Antioch Sequoits Crush the Rush

Friday, October 7, the Antioch Sequoits defeated their crosstown rivals, the Lakes Eagles, 14-7. Both teams went into Friday night full of hope, but the Sequoits came out on top with a record of 7-0.

The Lakes game is considered the biggest game of the year, and a lot of preparation goes into the game.

“I was really confident [heading into the game] because we’ve been preparing for Lakes for two to three weeks,” junior Branden Gallimore said. “Our coaches prepared us very well.”

Although their record is quite impressive, junior Jared DeBoer is not going to stop working hard.

“I’m not satisfied because you still want to go 9-0 and go deep in the playoffs, but it was definitely a good win,” DeBoer said.

The Sequoits will take on the North Chicago Warhawks at North Chicago on Friday, October 14.
