BREAKING: Hamilton Named New ACHS Principal

Current Lake Zurich Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction announced to head position at Thursday, March 16’s board of education meeting.

Change is common among high school students, each year students get new teachers and are put into classes with new people; however, one thing that doesn’t tend to change every year is the principal.

Antioch Community High School has been lucky enough to have Bradford Hubbard as principal for the past four years, and he has made quite the impact on students and staff. It was announced on Thursday, March 16 that Eric Hamilton, the current assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Lake Zurich High School, will be the principal of ACHS beginning in the 2017-18 school year.

“I think we ran an exhausted process, we had a really deep and good quality candidate pool,” Hubbard said. “Hamilton surfaced to the top and has some incredible experiences, some really great ideas, and I think will do this school very well in terms or leading it.”

For Hubbard this announcement comes with mixed feelings.

“It’s definitely bitter-sweet,” Hubbard said. “I’m excited for the professional opportunity to go to the district office and hopfully have an impact in the district as a whole.”

Hamilton met with the ACHS faculty this morning and toured the school throughout the day. He intends to be at events moving forward to get to know both the school and its community.
