The Varsity girl’s soccer team had given it their all against Deerfield on Tuesday night. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, with the only goal scored by junior Ella Roberts. This game was a continuation from a game previously played by the Sequoits. A lightning delay ended the previous game with 10:10 left in the half, the Sequoits were down 0-1 going into the game Tuesday night; it gave them an incentive to score.

According to junior Karly Monaco, it was the best game they had played so far.

“I believe that it was our best game of the season so far,” Monaco said. “Everyone was playing to their greatest ability and we never gave up.”

Not only did the team as a whole have a great game, but personally Monaco did too.

“My goal for the game was to stay aggressive and never give up on anything or anyone,” Monaco said.

There is a lot to improve on for the rest of this season, but Monaco has high hopes for her and her team this year.

“I truly think this is our year for girls soccer to win regionals,” Monaco said. “This team as a whole has true talent and I know we will make it far.”
