The girls Varsity volleyball gathers in a huddle to discuss their goals for the game.

On Monday night, September 19,  the lady Sequoits came out strong, and finished even stronger leading their way to another victory against Elgin Larkin. In the best of three matches, the Sequoits came out dominating and leading the way to a 25-14 victory. In the second match the Sequoits fell to Elgin 25-18.

“Our intensity level dropped in the second match,” junior Amanda Rowe said. “We really picked it up in the last match.” In the third and final match, in a back to back battle, the lady Sequoits pulled away and got the final victory over Elgin Larkin 25-18.

Monday night’s game marked Rowe’s first game on varsity.

“It was a really nice experience,” Rowe said. “To go out there and get a win was great for our team.”

Rowe also believes that the lady Sequoits can improve their game even more than they already have.

The Sequoits are hoping to keep up their high intensity offensive and defensive play throughout the rest of the season.
