Life Hacks for ACHS Prom

Be ready for prom with these 10 life hacks.

Prom is right around the corner. Don’t be the person who’s stuck without a dress or tuxedo, or the one who leaves their bags on the bus. These 10 life hacks are sure to help make prom a dream come true.

1) Stop the “Cha Cha Slide”

To prevent feet from slipping out of shoes, spray the bottom of the feet with hair spray.

It’s sticky, but it’s better than a ripped dress and broken shoes.

2) Fresh Face

Prevent a breakout by putting a dab of honey on a zit and covering it with a band-aid

overnight. The next morning, the acne should be gone. Combine this with a facial rinse.

3) Silky for the Slit Dress

Want smooth legs? Combine sugar and olive oil and apply to the legs directly after

shaving. Scrub it off to remove dead skin and re-shave.

4) Pearly Whites

Quickly whiten teeth by brushing with olive oil and baking soda paste for 2 minutes.

Rinse and reveal a new set of bright whites.

5) Slip and Slide

For slippery shoes, use a nail file to rough up the bottom of the soles. Apply lines of

household glue to the rough parts and allow time to dry.

6) Color Hack

When taking pictures, yellow makes one appear larger on camera than green. Take note.

7) No Pain, No Gain

Tape the second and third toes together with medical tape to avoid pain while dancing in

high heels.

8) Snail Nails

Place nail polish in the fridge 15 minutes before use for a smoother application.

9) DIY Boutonnière

Instead of spending big bucks for a tiny flower pin, make one by following this step by

step tutorial at http://onefabday.com/diy-boutonniere/.

10) No Back, No Problem

If a dress is backless, sew the cups from a discount bra on the inside instead of going

bra-less.

Antioch’s prom will be hosted at Grand Geneva on May 13th.

“Try to figure out all of your plans ahead of time because it will be stressful,” senior Olivia Szwajkowski said.
