The Chicago Bulls are currently in the tenth spot in the Eastern Conference. Their current spell of losing has brought the team outside playoff contention. If the Bulls want to make the playoffs this year, they are going to need to step up their game, especially on the defensive end. Now that Dwyane Wade is out with an elbow fracture and most likely not coming back for the rest of the season, Jimmy Butler is going to have to take the sole leadership role and lead the Bulls to the playoffs.

In the recent victory on Monday night, the Bulls beat the Hornets, a team that has virtually no chance at making the playoffs. Four of the Bulls scored over twenty points, led by Nikola Mirotic who scored 24 points and had 11 rebounds. Jimmy Butler also had a strong game with 23 points and 11 assists.

The Bulls most recent game was on Wednesday night; they played against the surging Grizzlies who are currently seventh in the competitive Western Conference. The Bulls showed a poor performance on offense, while holding the Grizzlies to barely under one hundred points. Senior Dylan Parker is very hopeful that the Bulls can make the playoffs this year.

“I’m very hopeful that the Bulls can pull off a late season run and make the playoffs,” Parker said. “Even though Wade is out for the rest of the season, I still think that Butler can lead us to the postseason.”
