The Antioch Sequoits boys Varsity golf team hosted their first match of the season on Tuesday, August 23rd.

They competed against their rival, the Lakes Eagles at Spring Valley Country Club, Antioch’s home course. It was a close match, but the Sequoits came up three strokes short of a victory.

The boys are instructed by head coach Andrew Benton, and assistant coach Trey Hickey. They are also led by senior captains Reece Eldridge and Nick Farino.

“We should finish towards the top of the new conference. We have been working hard on our games in practice and it is going to pay off,” Benton said, despite the loss.

If the boys keep up the hard work, they will definitely be a team to watch out for come this fall.
