Hannah Cook attributes to the team’s success Wednesday to a changed mindset from last season. She feels that even though the team did not win, the girls have done very well.

“As a team, we’ve really improved our mental game this season,” Cook said.  “Before, a bad shot or score may have upset us, but we are moving past these things much more quickly now.”

According to Cook, last year the team as a whole went through some growing pains but grew significantly towards the end of the year. This season so far has been successful due to players that have stepped up and found their identity.

“Sophomore Samantha Brown has really grown as a player and leader since last season,” Cook said. “Her scores are much lower and much more competitive this year, and her attitude towards golf has greatly improved from an already amazing level. Additionally, Junior Taylor Comer has become a leader this season by taking charge in team planning.”
