Girls Soccer Redeeming Start to Season

Girls+Soccer+Redeeming+Start+to+Season

After a tough start to their season, the Antioch Community High School’s girls varsity soccer team defeated  Johnsburg High School on Monday April 1, and Round Lake High School on Tuesday April 2, both 3-1.

Goals were scored on Johnsburg by freshman Megan Helgesen and seniors Alex Fracek and Kali Pope.

Helgesen was beyond excited to score her first goal on varsity and said, “just because you’re younger, it shouldn’t stop you from achieving what you want most, because this really is everything I’ve always wanted and everything I work for. It’s such an amazing feeling just to finally feel proud of yourself.”

During their game against Round Lake, two goals were scored by junior Mikayla Abbeduto and one by senior Kristen Kelly.
