Since the seventh grade, the leather of a basketball has been a second skin to sophomore Noor Abdellatif. From the moment she held the ball, she fell in love with the game and everything that comes with it. Abdellatif enjoys the game and gets to spend more time with her friends.

“Most of my friends play basketball, which makes it even more fun,” Abdellatif said. “Once I went to pass the ball, and I was laying on the ground at the three point line and it went in the basket, I laughed so hard it was great.”

Abdellatif plays on the girls JV basketball team. The basketball coach Kelly Johnson is able to count on Abdellatif to go wherever he needs her to go on the court and knows she will give nothing but her all.

“‘She is full of energy and is very enthusiastic,” Johnson said. “She is always willing to try new things.”

Two year teammate, sophomore Becca Ustich loves playing with Abdellatif because it is helping them get closer as friends.

“Whenever we’re out there we start laughing,” Ustich said. “I hope to become closer with her by playing with her and growing.”

Abdellatif is hoping to use this season to grow as a player and as a person on and off the court.
