The Sequoits are preparing with a team huddle before the game begins.

The Varsity boys volleyball team won their first set against the Grayslake Central Rams, 25-22. The first set was mostly going back and forth between the two teams. The Sequoits battled tough getting some digs and blocks to help them pull out the first set win. Although the boys won the first set, they were not pleased in how they played and wanted improvement.

“We played poorly,” junior Ryan Glassman said.

Before the second set began the team got together and talked about how they need to change things. The pep talk worked; the boys won the second half 25-15. The boys really worked together and started playing their game. The Sequoits were glad to get the win over Grayslake Central, although they did not play their best game.

“A win is a win,” Glassman said.

The boys hope to play their next game better than the way they played against the Rams. The team hopes that they can continue on their way, winning games.
