On Aug. 27, Antioch Community High School’s girls varsity field hockey team played Deerfield at Deerfield High School, leading to a Sequoit victory.

The game started off with Deerfield scoring the first goal. Shortly after, senior and captain Shannon Zogran scored a goal to tie the game 1-1.

The Sequoits dominated the game from there on out. Senior and captain Arlenne Lozano scored the tie breaking goal to put the Sequoits in the lead 2-1. Towards the end of the second half, Zogran scored second goal, making the final score 3-1.

The team’s win gave the girls momentum leading into their tournament in St. Louis this past weekend.
