Antioch Community High School has two students that are in the running for the Buffalo Wild Wings Athlete of the Month contest for the month of October. Junior varsity football running back Griffin Hill and leading Girls Golfer sophomore Hannah Cook are nominated for this contest sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings.

Hill’s football accomplishments include running a total of 142 yards on nine carries at the game against Mundelein, he currently has 722 yards rushing for 78 carries, 17 touchdowns and 6 receptions for a total of 54 yards within six games.

Cook has been leading the Girls Golf Team all season long.

“A couple years ago my mom started teaching me how to play and put me into a couple junior summer leagues. We kept playing together and I joined the team here [at ACHS] last year,” Cook said. “To me, it [being nominated] means that all of the work that I’ve put in has paid off. I am so grateful for the nomination and I’m so happy to even be thought of as a candidate for the award.”

At the District 117 Invitational on Sept. 27, Cook placed 8th with a 18-hole score of 97. She also was the first place medal winner for the D117 challenge with a score of 45 and has been leading the team with her scores at every meet this year.
