On Friday, Feb. 20, Antioch Community High School’s boys basketball team played at Lakes Community High School for an intense rivalry game. Antioch started off the game with a small lead, but fell short of maintaining that lead half way through the first quarter. The final score of the game was 55-33 with the Eagles soaring away with victory.

The Sequoits landed a spot on the scoreboard just two minutes into the first quarter with a three point shot by junior Captain Danny Brito. The Sequoits played a good defense the second quarter, but were not able to score many points.

After half-time the Sequoits came back more energized and ready to roll, but so did the Eagles. Brito had an epic defensive game throughout the third quarter, and with the help of a layup by senior Matt Powers and two free throws by junior Kyle Gofron, the end of the third quarter had the Eagles up 32-10.

Both teams brought their “A” game to the fourth quarter with a clear three point shot by junior Brandon Dade assisted by junior Trevor Koch.

Although the Sequoits fell short to the Eagles, be sure to come and support them at their game on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Mundelein High School at 7:00 P.M.
