On Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Antioch Community High School boys golf team defeated Lakes Community High School, earning bragging rights once again.

The Sequoits were able to pull off the victory with a score of 163-178. At the Antioch Golf Club, strong efforts were made by everyone on the team.

Junior Tyler Steele led the team with an overall score of 37, helping the Sequoits secure the win.

Steele said, “We are young, which is good. All of the freshman show great potential. Plus, we have a good varsity team full of talent.”

Junior Braden Ward said, “I thought we looked very impressive for our first match. I think we’ll do pretty well if we can work the scores lower as the season progresses.”

Come support the Sequoits at their next match on Sept. 9 against Grant at the Spring Valley Golf Course.
