BREAKING: New School Schedule Announced for Snow Day Make-Up

BREAKING%3A+New+School+Schedule+Announced+for+Snow+Day+Make-Up

Community High School District 117 Administration announced a revision to the academic calendar to make-up school days from the two snow days that occurred Jan. 6 and 7. The changes will effect both final exams and summer school.

Final exams, which originally were scheduled to occur Tuesday, May 27, will now begin Wednesday, May 28 and finish on Friday, May 30. This change is similar to a schedule change two years ago.

Students will be expected to be  in attendance on Monday, June 2 for the last day of school. This day will be “a review day.” According to an email from Antioch Community High School Principal Bradford Hubbard, this day will “include prep for AP course summer work, English summer reading assignments [and more].” The day will be a shortened schedule.

Finally, summer school, which was scheduled to begin Monday, June 2, will now, tentatively, begin on Tuesday, June 3. This change means that the first day of summer school could potentially be a full day for Summer Freshmen Academy students. The day, according to the email, “will include team building, leadership and rules in the [morning] and STAR testing in both reading and math in the [afternoon].”
