This year’s Cardinal Crazies are all about school spirit.

This year, Cardinal Crazies vice president Collin Prather wants to incorporate a new chant into ACHS’s cheering section. He modified a chant that quarterback Drew Brees originated with the New Orleans Saints into a new ACHS chant. The name of the chant is “Who Dat,” and was first performed at the pep assembly on Aug. 18.

“I personally really like the chant and was excited about bringing it to the student section,” said Prather. “Things could change, but I plan on performing the chant every football game.”

Football games are fun ways to get students, parents and community members together to have a memorable night cheering for the Sequoits. On Friday, Aug. 22, a football scrimmage was held on ACHS’ Kick-Off Night, and the Cardinal Crazies had the whole crowd on their feet with all different chants to support the team. The student section practiced the new “Who Dat” chant at the scrimmage in preparation for the first football game of the season on Friday, Aug. 29. The Crazies repeated the chant, with much success, at the first game against Kenosha-Tremper.

“The chant is on the Cardinal Crazies 2014-2015 Facebook group for the students,” said Prather. “It’s hard to grasp the feel of it, just by reading, but I think that you’ll all like it.”

He asked the students to give their honest opinions about the chant. Many students responded that they love the idea and are excited for the new addition.
