Dance Competition Shows Results

JV celebrates new high placing while varsity sets goals for improvement.

Antioch Community High School’s varsity and JV dance sprang to success in last weekend’s dance competition. They performed at Grayslake Central High School on Sunday, Jan. 27.

JV bested their other competition showings by placing fourth out of 12 teams. Their hard work through practice and basketball halftime performances paid off, producing a winning number.

Varsity dance competed against 20 other teams. Although performing well, the team placed 13th.

“We are playing around with different choreography ideas for the dance,” junior Brenna Higgins said.

On Jan. 23, at Rolling Meadows, the girls will be competing in Sectionals to see if they have the opportunity to make it to State the following weekend. To perform at State, the team must place in the top six or better.
