Varsity Girls Tennis blows away Grant.

Bad weather and conditions is not enough to stop the ACHS Varsity tennis team from bringing home a win. It was a chilly day with high winds that brought a bone shivering breeze. However, the Lady Sequoits fought through the chills and came out victorious.

“It’s hard to hold the racket when it’s cold and the wind would blow the ball around a lot,” junior Emma DeJong said. “When I threw the ball to serve, it would move a lot, or when I hit the ball, it could change its direction very easily.”

DeJong and senior Anna Arden defeated Grant at one of their doubles, winning 6-3 and 6-2.

The Lady Sequoits all around the board fought to give ACHS the points necessary to win overall.

The team strives for more wins and are willing to fight hard to achieve them. The girls will next compete in the Warren Quad this Saturday at Warren High School.
