Over the four day weekend, the girls cross country team participated in the Wheeling Invite on October 7. The top two runners for the sequoits were junior Natalie Hill, placing 45, and sophomore Natalie Svarc, placing 51. Overall, the team placed 13 out of 15 teams. Even though this was not the most successful meet for the girls, there were a lot of obstacles that the girls overcame.

Junior Noor Abdellatif suffered from an ankle injury during her race. Wanting her to finish the race, both D117 schools, Antioch and Lakes, helped carry Abdellatif the rest of the way so she could finish, showing great sportsmanship and support for a fallen Sequoit.

Thanks to the most supportive teams that helped me finish my race on a hurt ankle, and carried me so I could finish,” junior Noor Abdellatif said.

It was a tough weekend for the girls, but they are working hard to prepare for their next NLCC Invite on October 14 at Lakes Community High School.
