Homecoming: Dance The Night Away, With Or Without A Date

Homecoming is right around the corner and many students are looking for a date to go with.

During the homecoming season, several students at Antioch Community High School are waiting to be asked by that special someone. Going with a date can be ideal for some people, but not everyone wants to go that route.

Going with a date could mean the super cute proposal, which can be something extravagant or something small and personal. Many students at ACHS have already done their proposal to their special someone. Some students have used posters and flowers after an athletic event, some used corny phrases with puns and rhymes and some waited until late night to light up their significant other’s driveway with candles.

“Going with a date is better because you get to experience high school events with someone you care about,” junior Quinn Gillespie said.

A person may also make the decision to go with a group of friends because they do not want to spend the night with one person solely. Going with a group of friends can give someone memories that will last forever, that one would not get going with a date. Going with friends may allow them to fully enjoy the night instead of have someone on their arm. One may even get more enjoyment by going with their friends

“You can bond with your friends by getting ready before, going all together and making memories,” junior Audrey Selander said.

There may be a big debate behind going with or without a date to homecoming as it is a night most high school students look forward to, which also means they may want to be able to spend it with the people that matter to them. These people can be both a significant other or just their friends looking to have a fun time.
