How to Survive Being Single on Valentine’s Day

A letter to all single women on Valentine’s Day.

Dear all single ladies,

I understand as a girl, it can be difficult watching couples exchange romantic gifts and a peck on the lips in the hallway, but it should not be.

The good news is, this lovely day of the year is not during the week.

Instead of crying over not getting a dozen roses from a special someone, buy yourself some flowers.

Be festive and go buy a cute heart mug from Target. I guarantee it will make all the difference when you are sipping your coffee in style, especially when you pair it with a heart-shaped donut from Dunkin’ Donuts.

Instead of waiting for a someone to ask you on a date, go out with all the other single people you know.

Go big or go home. You just might as well wear a smokin’ outfit during the day and at night if you decide to go out with the girls.

My final point of advice: stop feeling bad for yourself.

Enjoy V-day and have fun, even if that means staying home, watching chick flicks, painting your toes and doing a homemade face mask.

The bottomline: who needs a box of chocolates or an over-sized, meaningless teddy bear to feel wanted?

Hold your head up and strut your stuff because Valentine’s Day is just a Hallmark holiday after all.

Love always,

A fellow single lady
