I Wish to Be a Kid

Losing my first tooth, seeing a boy and realizing my first crush, still believing Santa and the Easter Bunny are real, having my parents do everything for me, not a single care in the world and not worrying about a word anyone said to me; these were the best moments of my life that I wish I could relive everyday. Being a kid will forever be the best age because we do not have any stress or responsibility in our lives. As we grow older, more and more responsibilities and tasks get thrown at us. Why would we want to grow up if we could have everything so easily handed to us?

When we were kids, especially in school, we did not have the stress and anxiety of final exams or big assessments or the pressure of getting good enough grades to get into our favorite college. The most we had to worry about was learning the alphabet and simple grammar and math. As kids we did not have the endless nights of hours and hours of homework and studying; we just had to do one worksheet that would take about five minutes to complete. School was a breeze back then and we had all the free time in the world to have playdates with our best friends, play on our little sports team, and do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted to do it.

As a kid, everyone was our best friend and every person that saw us loved us. Whoever got the last cookie was the most drama we faced. Going to bed early and getting at least eight hours of sleep every night and continuing to get an hour of nap time during the school day is what we took advantage of. We did not have to worry about getting enough sleep or being sleep deprived. These are the moments I miss the most and wish I had back. Life as a kid was easy and those were the times I would have a smile on my face 24 hours of the day. Once anyone grows up, they always realize how much they miss being a kid.
