Since 2005, Kesha has been signed to Kemosabe Records and released her hits “Tik Tok” and “We R Who We R.” This past week, Kesha has been fighting to break free from her recording contract with Kemosabe Records, accusing the founder and producer Dr. Luke of abuse and sexual misconduct. She still owes the label six more albums, and they are refusing to let her go.

What does Dr. Luke have to say about all of this? Well, the American producer has a completely different side to the story. He claimed that Kesha’s accusations are apart of an exertion plot by the star, her mother and manager Jack Rovner for her to break free from the contract.

Because there was no evidence that Dr. Luke physically, sexually or mentally abused Kesha, the judge denied the motion to release her from Kemosabe Records.

Senior Jaylene Sparks said, “While this may be a terrible situation that Kesha is in, she is the voice and power at the moment for many women who are or have been sexually, mentally or physically abused. I hope she gets the justice she deserves.”

Kesha has received so much support throughout this huge nightmare. Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to Kesha and her mom for lawyer expenses, Lady Gaga has been posting pictures with Kesha to fuel the #FreeKesha movement, Adele announced support for Kesha during the Brit Awards Acceptance Speech and millions of fans have taken their love and support for Kesha over social media.

Junior Abby Johnson said, “Even though Kesha did not win her court case, she is still receiving support from millions of people world wide which is amazing.”

Kesha continues to fight and let her voice be heard even after all of the struggles she has been put through. She is truly a remarkable woman and deserves justice.
