Local Apple Orchards

‘Tis the season of apple picking, warm cinnamon sugar donuts and, of course, apple cider. Oriole Springs and Harvest Time Orchards in Twin Lakes are the perfect places to get one’s fall fix. From honey crisp to golden delicious, there will definitely be an apple to excite all tastebuds.

They also offer affordable prices. A medium picking bag for apples is $15 and a large bag is $25. Once finished picking from over 300 different apple trees at Orchard Springs, take a short drive down the road to Harvest Time Orchard — it is time for more treats. If cider is not enticing enough, the popular apple cider milkshakes are to die for. The perfect blend of cinnamon and apple is quite addicting.

The fun does not end there. Before heading back home to make that apple pie, buying a $10 dozen of mouth-watering, cinnamon sugar donuts is a must. The aroma of the donuts alone is worth the purchase. The market place also sells homemade jams, cheeses and other festive goodies.

Another neat part of Harvest Time is sits above the homemade-good market place. The area offers seating and a gorgeous view of the orchard. But if kids are involved and sitting down is not an option, no worries — there is a petting zoo next to the marketplace and an enjoyable jungle gym.

Boredom is not an issue at the Oriole Springs and Harvest Time Orchards. They are close to home and affordable, and it doesn’t get much better than that.
