Every year, 51 beautiful talented women come together to compete for the title of Miss America. From coast to coast, people tune in with the hopes of watching their representative claim the title. For the first time ever, Miss North Dakota was the one to take home the crown. Cara Mund, was crowned Sunday alongside Miss Missouri. Not only is she a pageant girl, she also “has high ambitions when it comes to politics…[she] wants to make history-again- by becoming her state’s first woman elected governor.” (ABC News) Fellow pageant competitors are also getting excited about her victory.

 

“I’m very happy for her and her state,’ Junior Miss Antioch, Adalia Tate said. “I’m really excited to see where this year takes her.”

 

In the next year to come, Miss America will travel around the country to meet other pageant queens, help out in communities, and volunteer for charities.
