Saturday afternoon football made the Sequoits alerted for an unstoppable game. Starting the game off strong, the Sequoits not only played their starters but the secondaries got to play a great game of football as well. New names for next year’s season made an appearance at Saturday’s game against the North Chicago Warhawks to make the final score 72-7.

Junior Griffin Hill made the first touchdown at kick off to start the night. With quarterback Danny Meade, junior, to score the two-point conversion. With eight minutes left in the first quarter, Meade carried the ball with a quarterback keeper running 50+ yards for a Sequoit touchdown. Senior Jacob Lanahan made the second two-point conversion for the afternoon. Hill running in the next two touchdowns, the kick-off is what made the game exciting. Junior Ben Gutke kicking an onside kick, the Warhawks could not grasp onto the football. Senior Destiny Dickson took control and leaped over North Chicago and took the ball. The first quarter, alone, took an hour to play. The defense destroyed the Warhawks offense left and right making some big plays, and only allowing one touchdown to be scored. To end the first quarter, junior Nick Andre caught the ball in the end zone to keep up our unstoppable lead.

At the start of the second quarter, Lanahan ran the ball all the way to the two yard line, he was cut short and was tackled. Defense stopped the Warhawks forcing them to punt. Senior TJ Pilarczyk swapped the ball to the ground with senior Matt Stigilic picking it up and running the ball into the end zone, making that the first defensive touchdown of the year. Lanahan ran up the side for 40+ yards to score another touchdown in the second quarter, ending the first half 58-7.

The second string players brought the heat the second half with some new names making some big plays. Pilarczyk scoring with 5:48 left in the third quarter and Junior Nick Hairrell scoring with 6:53 left in the fourth quarter, ending the game to 72-7.

Having another Sequoit win secured their spot in the playoffs. The Sequoits have been unstoppable all year and the Antioch community could not be more proud. Come out to next weeks game where Sequoit football faces our biggest rival, Lakes Community High School. Come out and support our boys as we hope to take on another victory.
