Freshman Jenny Horner finished her first tennis season as a Sequoit and says she can’t wait for next few years.

“I’m definitely glad I joined the team as a freshman, because I was able to make a lot of new friends, and even though the season may be over, we still have our friendship and I will certainly be playing through my high school career,” Horner said.

Horner is following in both of her sisters, alumni Annie Horner and junior Taylor Horner’s, footsteps. Tennis had a remarkable season and improved their game from beginning to end. Horner was glad she ended her tennis season with her new friends and new passion for the game. One of the best things about Jenny was her positive energy and support she would provide for her teammates.

“I was so happy when Jenny said she was going to play tennis. As the season progressed she had her ups and downs but she pushed herself and never gave up. She then ended up getting first place at conference. I couldn’t be more proud of her,” junior Taylor Horner said.

She never gave up when things got tough and that shows a lot of character as a person and player. Even though she was a freshman and a first year player, she made her mark and all of her hard work really paid off.

For being in her first year in tennis, she has surpassed expectations on the tennis court. According to Horner, she can’t wait to continue her high school career in tennis as a Sequoit and achieve even greater things through her experience.
