Fans worldwide of the ABC Family hit show Pretty Little Liars said goodbye to the infamous and unidentified “A” and hello to Charles in August 2015 when the show took a midseason break. The show resumed at 7 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, and gave viewers a look into the lives of Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, Alison DiLaurentis and Charles “Cece” Drake five years post Cece’s arrest.

The show began with Ali back at Rosewood High as an English teacher, which seemed like a crazy turn of events, but only turned out to be a minuscule change compared to the rest of the character’s lives. As the girls all took very different, and a few unpredictable, life changes, they all gathered back to Rosewood to help Ali yet again.

Ali recruited her old friends to come back to their hometown and help her appeal to the court that her sister Cece deserved to be allowed out of the mental hospital in which she is currently in. Although two of the five girls that spoke to the court said that Cece was not fit to leave the hospital, Cece was still allowed out.

The show was anticipated to have much more drama and the girl’s lives turned out very different than many fans expected. Pretty Little Liars was trending on Twitter for hours before and after the show first aired at 7 PM.

With the exception of one major event in the show, it was relatively dry. There is a lot of hope and potential for the show and even more craziness can be expected.
