Course list and guidelines for ACHS classes

As the end of January approaches, so does the annual tradition of course scheduling. Guidance counselors and students’ days are littered with individual and class meetings to figure out the appropriate courses for each student to enroll in for the upcoming school year.

For many, these meetings are quick and painless.

“I just take the classes I think will be interesting,” junior Alex Haug said.

Countless students choose to pursue courses that they know they’ll enjoy–they choose to find fulfillment by engaging their interests. However, there are many students that find this time of year considerably more mentally-taxing.

“I want to make sure I take enough rigorous courses that can challenge me and make me look better to colleges,” junior Ash Flackus said. “I also need to make sure I won’t be so stressed next year that I won’t be able to work well in these classes.”

For Flackus and like-minded students, hours are spent carefully selecting classes that will take up valuable slots in their busy schedules.

Regardless of one’s approach, luck, time and thought are necessary to ensure successful scholarly endeavors.
