Streak Snaps at 21

The Sequoits fall to the Vernon Hills Cougars ending their 21 game win streak.

The Sequoit girls basketball team saw their their winning streak come to an end on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The Lady Sequoits lost to the Vernon Hills Cougars with a final score of 68-43.

“It is horrible to lose, but it’ll motivate us to practice our best everyday preparing for this upcoming game against Lakes,” junior Madalyn Murillo said.

Sophomores Amy and Ashley Reiser led the scoring once again with 12 and 11, respectively. Murillo came off the bench with eight points to spark the offense. However, Murillo’s run wasn’t enough. The Sequoits did not shoot well and the Cougars out hustled them.
