Salt Salon and Spa opened in 2019 in downtown Antioch. The owner, Holly Elderworth’s, ultimate goal when opening a salon was to create a peaceful and positive, learning environment for salon professionals. Elderworth wanted to create a place that she would love to work in. Elderworth fell in love with cosmetology in high school when she worked as a shampoo assistant at a local salon in Antioch.

“I loved the energy and warmth that surrounds a salon environment,” Elderworth said. “It felt empowering to help women feel good about themselves.”

Originally, Elderworth did not set out to be a salon owner. However, the opportunity presented itself and she jumped at the chance. Despite her joy of becoming a business owner, owning is nothing like she expected, new challenges continue to arise every day.

“I take the challenges on and am very grateful to have them, ” Elderworth said. “The challenges are all learning experiences and I get better with each one. I am lucky to have some of the best employees and a great community to be supported by.”

Elderworth offers a multitude of services from haircuts, color, lightening services and retexturing to skin care services like facials, body waxing and eyelash extensions. With each season they offer “experiences.” The fall experiences included a perky pumpkin radiance-boosting facial, a coffee and cream complexion perfection facial, an apple cider hydration wrap, a mini massage and a summer scalp detox.

One of the salon’s most popular services is a balayage; a highlighting technique that gives a sun-kissed look to the hair. Another popular service is French haircuts, a different technique that allows a stylist to follow the head shape to create a perfect cut. They are cut softer and allow for more movement and texture. Lastly, the salon is a popular place to get skin care products that target acne or aging and waxing. For skin care, when making a facial appointment clients are able to express their concerns about their skin and the esthetician will adjust for the perfect facial.

Clients can make their appointments online or call in. The salon and spa hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Salt Salon and Spa is a positive environment for anyone and everyone who wishes to enjoy the experience of being beautified.
