While you’re currently listening to Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5, about 30 years ago, your parents were probably jamming out to Madonna or Michael Jackson.

Here are some classic 80’s pop songs your parents would be proud of:

1) “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John

As you probably know her from the film “Grease,” Olivia Newton-John played a huge role during the 80’s, from acting to singing. “Physical” ranked #1 on the 1982 Billboard Top 100. The humorous and slightly provocative music video which starts off as buff, greased up, weightlifters later turn into sweaty, overweight men.

2) “Eye Of The Tiger” by Survivor

This song, still quite popular in today’s music world, skyrocketed in 1982 on the Top 200 Billboard charts. The song was featured in the famous movie “Rocky” as the motivated boxer trains his way to success. And let’s face it, we can all agree that this song can get anyone pumped up for anything.

3) “Like A Prayer” by Madonna

Madonna, one of the 80’s biggest pop stars, released one of her many hit songs in 1988. “Like A Prayer” ended up in the top ten on Billboards Hot 100 Hits. The video itself gained tons of criticism due to religious reasons, but the song is still appreciated by many as a great sing-a-long song for anyone.

4) “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins

It’s a true struggle to not break out your Kevin Bacon-esque dance moves when you hear this song. The well-known hit was featured in the movie “Footloose,” as well as other songs like “Holding Out For A Hero” and “Let’s Hear It For The Boy.”

5) “Walk Like An Egyptian”  by The Bangles

One of the 80’s most iconic songs was actually inspired by people walking awkwardly on a ferry in order to keep their balance. The video shows pedestrians, businessmen and even grandmothers “walking like an Egyptian.” The song reached No. 3 on Billboards Top 100 in 1986.
