School is almost out and summer is in the air. This means it’s time to try new things and prepare for the best season of the year!

1.) Try out a new hair style

Summertime is the perfect time to experiment with your hair. It is the perfect opportunity to get the daring and bold hair cut that you may have been debating a few months ago, or to even try out a new and different hair color. And if you don’t like how your hair turns out, the good news is that you have 3 months to fix it! Junior at Antioch Community High School, Emma Dejong said, “I feel like summertime is the time when everyone gets their hair cut short or dyed lighter. It’s the perfect opportunity to try something new!

2.) Prepare for college

For the Seniors that just graduated it’s time to start preparing for the next chapter of your lives! Target is a really good store to shop at if you are looking for dorm furniture, and it is very inexpensive.

3.) Keep in shape

While most girls have been working to get a “nice summer bod” it’s also important to keep a healthy body over the summer too. Junior at Antioch Community High School, Mara Solano said, “I love working out over the summer, especially taking runs outside.”

4.) Keep your skin healthy

While everyone is in a hurry to get golden tanned skin it is always important to remember to put sunscreen on! Don’t go too high or too low when it comes to SPF. Always get sunscreen with an SPF of 30, and use two palm size portions to protect your skin.

5.) Find the perfect book to read for the summer

Reading a book while laying out and soaking up with sun always sounds ideal. And if you love Kylie and Kendall Jenner, it’s your lucky day because they just wrote a new book called City of Indra. If you loved Divergent than this is the book for you!

But the biggest tip of all when preparing for summer is to not be afraid to try new things. With a change in the season, never be afraid to find a good change in yourself as well!
