Top Five Fall Makeup Trends

Some new and returning makeup trends to try this fall season.

Fall is right around the corner, which means it’s time for new makeup trends to take over the beauty world for fall and winter.

  1. Dark Lips

Dark lips are a major trend in the fall time. Since the months are colder, people tend to wear darker colors on their lips. Matte, dark lips are especially popular because shiny and glossy lips are typically a summer trend. Many different brands carry matte lipsticks. Anastasia Beverly Hills has a matte liquid lipstick collection with over thirty shades, ranging from nudes to dark purples. They are sold for $20. For a more affordable option, Colourpop has a matte liquid lipstick line, similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills’ line, but are only $6. The only difference is that Colourpop is only sold online, so it might be harder to find the true color. Wearing a dark lip seems unwearable at first, but their popularity throughout the fall and winter season makes them easy to wear.

  1. Glitter On The Eyes

Although this trend seems out of the ordinary for fall time, it is actually becoming a huge hit. Typically, fall consists of wearing matte and dark colors. Now, people are adding a little touch of glitter into their makeup. Adding a hint of a shimmery color into eyeshadow will give the look more dimension. To achieve this, use a finger to tap into any light, shimmery eyeshadow and put it in the inner corner of the eye. This works especially well when tired, because the shimmer in the inner corner of the eyes makes the them look more awake.

  1. Peach Eyeshadow

This is another trend that also seems a bit odd to be in fall trends, but peach eyeshadow is a trend that is getting more popular during the fall season. Models like Gigi Hadid have been seen wearing this eyeshadow look on the runway. Peach eyeshadow is a simple, everyday look that can be achieved by just swiping the shadow over the lid. This look will add a little bit of color to the look, and will make light or blue eyes pop. Peach eyeshadows can be found in any makeup brand, low and high end.

  1. Untamed Eyebrows

Eyebrows are staple year round trend but for the upcoming fall season, untamed, thick eyebrows are becoming a hit. Models like Cara Delevingne are known for their insanely thick and dark eyebrows. In this trend, the eyebrows don’t have a lot of definition to them, and they are more undone. Unlike the Instagram trend of carved and precise eyebrows, this trend promotes basically not doing anything to your brows. If you have thick eyebrows, this trend will work in your favor.

  1. Fake Freckles

Lastly, this again seems like a summer trend, but it is sticking around for the fall. A trend that started around July has now become a upcoming fall trend. The trend of drawing on fake freckles is mainly popular on Instagram accounts and with YouTube beauty gurus. To achieve the look of fake freckles, take an eyeliner or eyebrow pencil, and make random dots all over the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Freckles have become a trend in general, so much to the point where people are drawing them on. This is an easy look to achieve, as long as the dots are blended out so they look as natural as possible.
