Up-&-Coming Artist: Sylvan Esso

Sylvan Esso, an indie electronic duo made up of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn, take pop music to a whole new level and turn it into something both unique and incredibly artistic. Meath’s graceful vocals blend perfectly with Sanborn’s heavy memorizing rhythms. Altogether, their album flows flawlessly and each song tells a story with gracious melodies.
Although the group isn’t well-known, they’ve come a long way. The two released their single “Hey Mami” — a raw, soulful ballad that starts off a cappella then takes a turn with electronic beats — and followed up with their eponymous first album in May 2014. To their surprise, it landed #39 on Billboard 200.
Since their success, Sylvan Esso can be caught touring internationally playing at large music festivals like Coachella, Pitchfork or even the more local Lollapalooza in Chicago and Summerfest in Milwaukee. Find them on iTunes, Soundcloud, and Sptofy.
