Going into her third year on the Varsity soccer team, junior Morgan Keefer thinks this season is going to be a dominant one.

As I am in tryouts, I personally see a lot of success for this season as a whole, we have all improved very much over the year, and I think we’re going to have a great season,” Keefer said.

Keefer started playing soccer when she was in first grade, and has been loving it ever since. The first team she participated on was a boys team out of Kenosha, called KASA. Keefer played for KASA for the first six years of her soccer career and then transferred to LASC out of Lindenhurst, Illinois.

Keefer’s primary positions include outside midfield and forward. However, for Keefer, soccer is not all about the playing time, but more about the relationships she forms with her teammates.

“My favorite part of soccer is getting close together as a team and becoming a family,” Keefer said.

The girl’s first game is on Tuesday, March 14 against Deerfield High School. In order to play to the best of her ability, Keefer has to prepare before the game.

“The best way for me to get ready for a game is to focus when warming up, and to have my closest friends around me to get the nerves out of me,” Keefer said.
