The Antioch Academic Team faced off against three other schools on Wednesday, January 20. The team beat both Mundelein and Wauconda High School, but lost to District 117 rival Lakes Community High School.

The meet started with Antioch against Mundelein. The game started slow, but by the end ACHS was able to pull a lead and win. The Sequoits then faced off against Waucanda, where the academic team pulled a strong lead and ended the game with a 300 point lead.

The final game was a back-and-forth against Eagles, but their opponent pulled a slight lead against them and finished the final round with the win.

“I think the team and I still have confidence in ourselves because although we lost one of our matches tonight,” senior Anna Reimer said. “We still have had a strong season so far.”

The current season record is 15 wins and 3 losses. Their next meet is Saturday, February 20.
