“Up… down… up” and “push it” are just some of the words students in the Advanced Fit for Life (AFFL) physical education class at Antioch Community High School hear daily. AFFL is a co-ed class that is a step up from the regular Fit for Life P.E. class. AFFL has a crossfit mentality with cardio days twice a week and the three other days is for strength training and recovery.

“The students in this class are very hardworking individuals who want to be in here and have that drive to get better,”AFFL instructor and P.E. teacher Jamie Walton said. “You can tell by looking at their performance.”

“I love Fit For Life,” senior Allie Gelander said. “I have been doing it since sophomore year, and this year I decided to take Advanced Fit for Life. I would highly recommend this class if you want to live a healthy lifestyle — it keeps me in shape and my stamina up for all the sports I do.”
