Every year Antioch Community High School students from math one, two, and Algebra two honors create fun and challenging games for grade schoolers to play throughout the night. On Thursday, Nov. 20 ACHS held their annual Math Fair.

Math department chair Jill Farrell said, “Math fair is for our fourth, fifth and sixth graders at our feeder schools to come out and have fun with math, they can win some money and receive cool prizes.”

The night consisted of several different games made by several bright and intelligent ACHS students. The games varied from math twister, math bag toss and other carnival based games. Not only does the Math Fair bring fun to the kids, but to older ones as well.

“This is my second year participating in the math fair,” said Sophomore Justin Prinn. “I think it’s fun to watch the kids play the games that we made and help them learn math.”

The Math Fair brought in lots of success with dozens of participating students and staff. The original dull and difficult subject that most students dread was brought to life by the Math Fair and will continue on for years to come.
