On the cold and rainy night of Thursday, October 12. The Seqouits played Elgin Academy for their senior night under the lights at Antioch Community High School.

Thursday was the last regular season game for the team and the lady Sequoits came out on fire in the first half, scoring a goal just two minutes into the game. The girls then added on three more goals including one with five minutes left in the first half, extending the lead to 4-0 going into halftime.

With 18:28 left in the game, junior Karina Steitz scored a goal and then five minutes later, junior Carolyn Miller came in and scored, making the lead 6-0. Antioch cemented their victory with one last goal with 4:30 remaining in the game. The Sequoits had possession the whole game leading to a shutout from the defense and the team took advantage of the many opportunities to score, leading to a seven point blowout.

“We played well on attack because we wanted to make our last regular season game a good one,” sophomore Sarah Smith said.

The Sequoits won 7-0 and are looking to go far in the post season and win their sectional games that are coming up.
