On Wednesday, September 13 the Antioch girls golf team faced a tough opponent in Grayslake’s co-op team. The Sequoits lost a back and forth match with a final score of 215-219 in favor of Grayslake. They competed at Spring Valley Country Club on a 9-hole course. Par for the course was 35 strokes, and neither team met or beat par.

Antioch’s top players for the meet were junior Samantha Brown with a score of 44 strokes, junior Karley Rogalski with a score of 53 streaks, and sophomore Emily Pedersen with a score of 59 strokes. Brown’s score of 44 strokes was the lowest score of any athlete who competed in the match.

“We all tried our best to stay in the fairways, and to keep our scores low,” Rogalski said.

While the Sequoits efforts were noticeable,  it still wasn’t enough to come out on top against Grayslake.

The Sequoits next tournament is on September 16 at 9:00 a.m. in Rockford Illinois.
