Beat Up on the Bulldogs

Sequoit football edges out a win, 33-29 against Wauconda.

The Sequoit football team went head to head against the Wauconda Bulldogs last Friday night. The boys played a tough game and managed to come out on top, 33-29. This win brings the Sequoits to 3-0.

“It feels awesome being 3-0, we have been working so hard at practice and on the weight deck and it’s really showing,” said junior Branden Gallimore.

The first half was all about the Sequoits; at the end of the first half the score was 26-7. Senior Brandon Lind had three touchdowns, and Gallimore ran for 140 yards with two touchdowns.  Also, the defense came out and stopped the Bulldogs to only one touchdown the whole half.

The Bulldogs started coming back in the second half, but the Sequoits defense stopped their momentum before the lead was lost. The Sequoits scored again late in the second half to make the score 33-29.

“It’s great knowing that we are putting up big points because we know we are capable of doing that. We want to continue being one of the top scorers,” said Gallimore.

The Sequoits are stepping up this year and hope to continue the streak. Their next game is the homecoming game against Grant, September 16.
