The boys cross country team took a win against the Richmond Burton Comets last night, August 29th, with a score of 22-45.

The Richmond Burton Comets started off strong in the three mile race at Richardson Farm corn maze. However, Sequoit runners Charlie Smith, Eric Hart and Sebastian Scofield followed the two lead runners of the Comets and after the first mile and a half they began slowly closing the gap. When nearing the finish line, Smith pulled away from the other runners and finished with a time of 18:36. Shortly following him was Scofield coming in third with a time of 18:54. The Sequoits ultimately ran away with the victory with a score of 22-45.

“It was a really fun race. I’ve never ran through a corn maze before and it was something different, which is really cool,” Smith, the first place runner, said.

The course was different than most others because it was run through a corn maze. The maze may have been more difficult than other races because it was something that the runners were not used to. The boys run their next meet at University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, September 2nd.
