BRIEF: Boys Soccer Wins Sectionals

BRIEF%3A+Boys+Soccer+Wins+Sectionals

After a difficult game against Vernon Hills on Saturday, Nov. 2, Antioch Community High School varsity soccer team managed to finish strong with a 2-1 win. The boys had a rough start and then eventually had opportunities to score in the second half, resulting in the schools first sectional championship win in school history. Senior goalkeeper Tommy Tritschler was able to keep the boys in the game with seven saves. In the forty forth minute, senior Jon Bohmann scored the first goal off of a penalty kick for a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, senior Danny Brito scored off a pass from junior Iven Hernandez, giving them a 2-0 lead. In the fifty second minute Vernon Hills managed to score, ending the game 2-1 with a Sequoit win.

Now that the boys have won their sectional games, they will be playing St. Ignatius at Stevenson High School on Tuesday, Nov. 5 for the supersectional championship. If the boys win, they will be going to state.
