Many do not donate blood for various reasons, whether it be a fear of needles or just because they do not reach standards for donating. According to redcrossblog.org, although 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, less than 10 percent actually do.

There are also a lot of misconceptions people think to be true that could potentially stop them from not donating, but it is important to know the real regulations on donating. With a single donation of one unit of blood, they could save three lives.

ACHS will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday Oct. 28. Donate to save lives.
