We did it. We hit 100,000 page views. 80,000 more than we expected to be at come the end of this school year.

Just over five months ago, October 1, 2013, we officially launched tomtomnews.com. The website became one of our two major changes to the Tom Tom news organization this year—the transition to a quarterly news magazine being the other. While our initial goal was to inspire students, staff and community members to accept our changes, we never anticipated what would become of this support.

Not only did our community support our transition from newspaper to news magazine, but it also flocked to our digital components. Now, with the addition of social media accounts like @ACHSTomTom on Twitter and Instagram, as well as a Facebook page, our digital version of the Tom Tom continues to expand. It expanded so much so that we’ve far surpassed our initial goal of getting 20,000 page views by the end of the school year.

We’ve gone beyond that five times over.

The Tom Tom staff would like to thank the students, staff and community of Antioch Community High School and Antioch for supporting our changes and making our news organization operate successfully.

As we begin the final countdown to summer, we promise to continue to provide news daily and content over social media outlets. Additionally, stay tuned as we intend to have more announcements about additions to the Tom Tom for the future, leading into the full development of Sequoit Student Media.

Welcome to the new generation of the Tom Tom. Thanks for making it worth every second.
