BRIEF%3A+Fall+Sports

Sequoits, get fired up because it’s time to get cardinal crazy for fall sports.

Sequoit football kicked off its season on Aug. 31 with a loss to Tremper.  Despite the loss, head coach Brian Glashagel is excited to see what his team has to offer this season.

“The team looks really good. We have lots of returners and it’s very senior dominated,” said Glashagel. “Teachers are excited and students get excited. I love this time of year.”

Boys golf has a full schedule, including the Roger Alm Invite which will be held at Spring Valley Golf Course tomorrow. In addition, the girls golf team is back on the roster. Head coach Kelly McIntyre is looking forward to getting her young team out on the course.

“Right now we have five girls on the roster and they are all freshman,” said McIntyre.

The girls field hockey team wants to keep their winning streak alive after their championship win in St. Louis. Head coach Terry Dewing said, “Yeah, we’re going to be good.”

Boys soccer is looking for fans to come and watch them. Their next home game is on Sept. 17 against Round Lake. In addition, the girls tennis team will be playing against conference rival Vernon Hills at McMillen the same day.

The girls volleyball team looks forward to their biggest game of the season, the Volley for the Cure game, on Oct. 1 at Lakes. The boys and girls cross country teams are also looking for a winning season this year.

So get out there and yell Cardinal Crazies, because it’s time to get loud.
