The girls volleyball team fell to the Wauconda Bulldogs in two sets on their senior night. The girls fought hard but came up short in both sets, losing 25-23 in the first set and 26-24 in the second set. It was a back and forth game. However, the team couldn’t come out on top for their senior night.

“I’m disappointed because I think we could’ve won,” junior outside Ayanna Tommy said. “But we still played hard and came back in the second set.”

The Sequoits went down quickly in the second set and had to face an uphill battle if they wanted a shot at keeping the match alive. By putting in all of their effort, they came back and only allowed the Bulldogs to win by two points.

“Senior night was very fun,” sophomore setter Maiah Moll said. “But it was sad considering I’ve developed some strong friendships with all the seniors and they will definitely be missed next year on and off the court. As an underclassman playing with upperclassman, there is pressure to live up to the expectations of a varsity level athlete, especially on senior night.”

The Sequoits plan to put their 6-5 regular season in the past and prove to be unbeatable during regionals.
