Antioch Community High School’s girls varsity volleyball team earned a win against Zion-Benton on Wednesday, Sept. 30, advancing their record to 17-5-1.

“We played really well tonight, we were consistent with our serves and played smart,” Senior Emily Quinnett said. “We worked together and didn’t let up, which ended up getting us the win.”

Winning the first game with a close score of 25-23, the ladies came back even stronger in the second game with a final score of 25-12, winning the match for the Sequoits.

Sophomore Jill Everett, who cheered on the varsity girls from the sidelines, was proud of the girls for many reasons.

“The team worked together well and was able to win in two games,” said Everett. “In the second game they really showcased how well they can actually play, as everyone contributed and played to their level.”

The girls hope to keep the momentum going into next game at Antioch on Thursday October 1.
